This year, Canadians can make tax payments at more than 6,000 Canada Post locations across the country, thanks to the collaboration between Payment Source and Canada Revenue Agency.

In a new initiative, CRA remittance forms for T1 taxes will contain an embedded QR code which will allow the in-person tax payment at Canada Post.

The QR code is powered by Payment Source. When scanned, the CRA will receive the payment information immediately.

Payment Source offers prepaid mobile top ups, gift cards and financial products to more than 15,000 retailers in Canada, using its Loadhub technology.

Robert Hyde, VP Payment Services for Payment Source said in a news release, "we are pleased to continue to support the CRA with their tax payments and are constantly looking for ways to improve the experience for the taxpayer."

"In-person payment at Canada Post continues to be a great solution for those in more remote regions where traditional banking services are less accessible," he added

The new tax payment remittance forms will be available at the end of February and additional forms will be issued over the course of 2018.
