A sixth Richmond school is reporting a COVID-19 exposure this week.

A letter was sent on Friday to parents of Richmond Secondary students, informing them of the exposure to the virus.

The school said that it would not be providing specific details about the exposure – including when it occurred – due to privacy reasons.

Vancouver Coastal Health has contacted anyone identified as a close contact and has required them to self-isolate, and there is no evidence of exposure to the wider staff or student community at this time, according to the letter.

This is the second time that Richmond Secondary has reported a COVID-19 exposure. The first exposure occurred Oct. 7 to 9, with families notified Oct. 14.

Five elementary schools also reported an exposure to the virus this week: McNeely, Spul’u’kwuks, R.J. Tait, Williams Bridge and Mitchell.
