The City of Richmond will decide whether or not to move forward with new wharf bylaws to regulate activities at city-owned or operated waterlots at Monday's city council meeting.
This is one of several agenda items being addressed at Monday's regular 7 p.m. city council meetings.
City staff are recommending council to approve a bylaw that will provide more enforcement on removing unwanted vessels and issuing fines for prohibited activities at the city's wharves and waterlots, according to a city staff report.
The report further added that city-owned waterlots and wharves require better management to allow multiple groups to use the area when needed such as for public recreational fishing and general shared dock and waterfront usage.
Meanwhile, the development permit committee on Wednesday, June 14 will be looking at a development permit application to build eight townhomes at 6520 Williams Rd.
The area currently has a single-detached home with no secondary suite. If approved, the home would be demolished.
Applicant Gradual Architecture Inc. is looking to build four units in the front of the property along Williams Road and four in the rear.
According to a report, the proposal will also replace the existing sidewalk with a new concrete sidewalk and landscaped boulevard with street trees and lighting.
