Drivers taking Highway 99 through Richmond will need to prepare for delays as closures as highway closure is planned for Sunday night.
Highway 99 at the Steveston Interchange will be fully closed overnight starting May 28 at 11 p.m. through to 4:30 a.m. on May 29 and will be fully re-opened by 5 a.m.
Traffic on the highway will be detoured over the existing on- and off-ramps during the closure.
There may be some "short-term traffic stoppages on the ramps" during the overnight work and there will be access for emergency responders, residents and businesses in the area.
The closure will allow crews to move heavy machinery across the highway for the new five-lane Steveston Interchange project, according to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
