Circus performers, rock musicians, children’s authors and even Canada’s top Yo Yo champ are just some of the special guests to be featured at the 10th Annual Children’s Arts Festival, Feb. 12 to 16 at the Richmond Cultural Centre.
Besides performances and shows, there are also a variety of classes for children to participate in, such as acting, cartooning, GIF creation, hip hop dancing, and puppet making.
“This very popular festival will kick-off on Family Day, and is a day of celebration with creativity classes of dance, storytelling and other engaging hands-on activities in which families can participate together in the enjoyment of the arts”, Richmond Mayor Malcolm Brodie said.
“Never in our wildest imagination did we think we would have the privilege to grow a tiny idea into a weeklong event that would reach more than 90,000 children and families, but here we are and we are overjoyed to welcome you to the tenth Children’s Arts Festival,” the festival’s artistic director Debbie Tobin states in the festival brochure.
