While yesterday’s forecast showed a sunny week ahead for Richmond, a chance of flurries has since creeped in for Wednesday night and Thursday.

Wednesday is expected to see periods of rain throughout the day with a high of 4 C. By the evening, temperatures are expected to dip to 1 C with a chance of snow or rain, according to Environment Canada.

Thursday may also see rain or flurries.

This possible brief return of wintery weather comes after the coldest February on record in Metro Vancouver. According to Environment Canada meteorologist Matt MacDonald, February usually has around seven days of double-digit temperatures in February. This past month, however, did not see a single day above 10 C.

The average temperature for this past February was 0.4 C, with the previous record – from 1989 – was 0.8 C.

By Friday, however, the sun is expected to return and temperatures should climb to 7 C.
