A new pedestrian-controlled crosswalk at the intersection of Garden City Road and Granville Avenue will be activated this Wednesday.
And, as traffic signals have never been in this location before, pedestrians and drivers are being advised to take extra precautions by eliminating all distractions.
This new crosswalk includes a new traffic signal and overhead advanced warning flashers for southbound to westbound vehicles along the Garden City Road and Granville Avenue transition.
Southbound motorists should be prepared to stop at this location when a "walk" phase has been activated by a pedestrian and/or cyclist.
Pedestrians are encouraged to make eye contact with drivers when crossing the street and to wear reflective material to increase visibility.
