While the promised snow of last weekend did not amount to much, flurries just might return to Richmond later this week along with cold, arctic air.

Environment Canada has issued a new weather alert for Metro Vancouver, including Richmond. By Thursday, “a fresh infusion of arctic air” will spread through B.C. that is expected to bring snow to most of the south coast starting Thursday night and continuing through Friday.

“Most areas will receive at least a few centimetres of accumulation by late Friday,” Environment Canada’s weather statement says.

Snow will ease by Friday night, but some areas will then experience “bitterly cold winds.”

Currently, Richmond is forecasted to have a chance of flurries on Thursday with periods of snow on Friday. Temperatures could dip as low as -7 C overnight and reach as high as 2 C on the weekend.
