My management career spans over 30 years in a variety of progressive roles within the hotel industry form Europe to North America. I am currently the general manager of the Vancouver Airport Marriott Hotel and have been working for the same employer in Richmond since 2003.  I started at the Richmond Inn and made my way slowly across the parking lot to the Marriott Hotel. Presently I am the president of Tourism Richmond and sit on the board of directors for the Richmond Hotel Association and the Richmond Hotel Destination association. I have a passion for hotels, food, wine, sports and the outdoors in general. I also have a passion for the people that I work with and truly believe in putting people first.

What do you like best about Richmond?

I love Richmond for the people in the city and its culture and food scene.

How do you stay healthy in Richmond?

To stay health, I usually run on the dike before or after work for most days during the summer. Most of the time its usually between the UBC Boat House to Steveston.

What's your favourite area of nature in Richmond?

I would say my favourite area in Richmond where nature is involved would be Iona Regional Beach Park.

Where in Richmond do you like to take out-of-town guests?

Steveston Village is the place to go for my out-of-town guests.

What is one of Richmond's hidden gems?

Richmond has many hidden gems, but the Buddhist International Temple is one for a place of worship and Shanghai River restaurant is another when it comes to the food scene.
