Richmond Public Library is offering free, drop-in sign language storytimes called "Sign With Us!" for parents, caregivers and their children at the Brighouse Branch, 7700 Minoru Gate, on Fridays, from Jan. 25 to Feb. 22. Richmond Public Library and Literacy Richmond are partnering with Kwantlen Polytechnic University to offer a program for parents wanting to gain workplace skills. The Learning Together program combines family reading readiness with adult workplace literacy into an all in one program. It runs Fridays from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Kids Place Program Room at Brighouse branch. The program is free and drop-in, although it's suggested participants attend regularly. Richmond author Alma Lightbody will be holding a book signing of her new book, You're Not the Boss of Me: Disocver Your Authentic Self, at Serendipity's Backyard in Steveston on Saturday, Feb. 9 from 1 to 3 p.m.

FilChiBC launches its Free Seniors Wellness Program on Saturday, Feb. 9. Senior citizens can get blood pressure and lifestyle checkups, join an exercise class and enjoy coffee and tea every second Saturday afternoon.
