Alleged identity thieves face more than 20 charges in Richmond court

Two individuals were allegedly caught in Richmond with identity documents belonging to 12 different people.

Two individuals are facing a shopping list of identity theft-related charges allegedly committed in 2022 and 2023.

Brandy Karen Ritchie and Gregory Mackenzie Calder are charged with 22 counts in total for allegedly possessing identity documents belonging to 12 different people last January.

The identity documents include driver's licences, birth certificates, Social Insurance Number cards, potentially forged credit cards and forged store membership cards.

Ritchie is also facing fraud charges in Armstrong, where she allegedly impersonated someone and defrauded more than $5,000 in November 2022.

Ritchie is scheduled for a hearing to fix a date on Feb. 12, while Calder is set to have a pre-trial conference on March 13.
