29 line up for 2011 Richmond civic election race

Richmond electors can choose between two mayoral candidates and 17 councillor hopefuls in the 2011 Richmond civic election on Nov. 19.

Richmond electors can choose between two mayoral candidates and 17 councillor hopefuls in the 2011 Richmond civic election on Nov. 19.

Another 10 candidates are vying for school trustee positions after the nomination period closed today Friday at 4 p.m.

Short profiles supplied by the candidates will be available soon on the citys website and their profiles will also be published in a comprehensive Voters Guide that will be mailed to all households in early November.

This year, Richmond voters can cast their ballots at any one of the 32 voting places that will be open on election day. In addition, advance voting is scheduled on Nov. 8, 9, 10 12 and 15 at a variety of locations.

Information is also available at the citys election office at Richmond City Hall or by calling 604 276 4100. The office is open weekdays during city hall business hours (except for statutory holidays).
