1: Music at the Cannery Series: Friday July 8:

The Music at the Cannery Series gets off on the right note Friday evening with Harpdog Brown taking to the outdoor stage on the tank deck at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery in Steveston. On Friday’s throughout the month of July the site will host a variety of performers bringing their unique styles to the best outdoor venue in the city. Showtime is 6:30 p.m. and admission is by donation ($5 per person is suggested).  Other performers in the series include: Cannery Row (July 15), Fionn (July 22), Rock Line (July 29).

2: Euro 2016 Final: Sunday July 10:

Soccer fans who have been following the Euro 2016 tournament from France will be able to join a crowd to watch the final at the ROX (Richmond Olympic Experience) at the Richmond Oval on Sunday. From 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. the “Celebration of Soccer” will feature two, 16-foot wide big screen TVs to watch the game unfold. In addition there will be an autograph session with Tim Parker and Jordan Harvey of Vancouver Whitecaps FC, plus a mini-soccer clinic by Brazilian Soccer Schools, a free “Euro” hot dog, face painting and a chance to win a Vancouver Whitecaps FC suite for 14 guests for the Oct. 2 game. Tickets: $17.

3: Sunday Series: Sunday July 10:

The City of Richmond’s Sunset Series gives locals the chance to enjoy their weekend down to the very last second with a free set of activities at the Olympic Riverside Plaza. Running each Sunday until Aug. 28, it features live music, a free yoga class, beach volleyball, food trucks and an outdoor screening of a movie at dusk every other week. Events start at 5 p.m. and the screening of Jurassic Park this Sunday begins at dusk.
