As the days get just that little shorter and a return to school is on the horizon, the list of books read by local youngsters is getting longer.
This summer there has been an extremely dedicated group of young readers who have taken part in the Summer Reading Club (SRC), organized by the Richmond Public Library.

Here are the results of some of that reading as this week’s trio of readers give us their thoughts on the books they read.

Thea Stilton and the Cloud Castle
By Thea Stilton
Reviewed by Makayla, age seven
This book is all about adventures and mysteries that the Thea sisters have.
In this one, their friend Will Mystery called Thea and said there was an emergency: the land of clouds is disappearing.
I like this book because it is about mysteries and adventures about the Thea sisters. They help each other.  They never leave one behind and they rescued Violet.
I give this book five stars!

My Extra Best Friend
By Julie Bowe
Reviewed by Karen, age seven
This book is about the BFF issues that a girl named Ida has to go through. After her BFF Liz moves away, the two girls lose touch.
But later on, when Ida bumps into Liz at summer camp, Ida has to choose between fixing her friendship with Liz and leaving her out to be with her other BFFs.
I like this book because it is about having BFFs, and it teaches readers to not forget old friends, no matter how many other BFFs they have made.
I give this book five stars!

The Notebook of Doom
By Troy Cummings
Reviewed by Joey, age nine
This book is about a group of kids who are part of a monster fighting team called “Super Secret Monster Patrol” or SSMP for short. The kids’ names are Alexander, Rip, and Nikki!
I like this book because it’s full of adventures and surprises!
I do not like this book because ...
Ha! Just kidding.
There’s nothing I don’t like about this book!
I give this book four stars!
