Title: Buttons the Runaway Puppy Reviewed by: Ekjot Dhesi, 12 This book is about a dog that runs away from his owner because his owner is too old to take him on walks. One day something happens to the owner and his dog runs to call his owner's friend, Sophie. She brings him to the doctor and he lets her keep the dog.

I like this book because it really teaches you that helping and being friendly to people is worth it at the end. Sophie helped the owner take care of the dog when he was sick, so he gave her the dog. Sophie really wanted a dog like Buttons.

Title: The Paint BoxReviewed by: Enya Shuai, 7 Marietta, the daughter of a great artist, disguises herself as a boy. She loves to draw. She meets a slave boy.

They are different, but they are also the same because they both love to draw.

I like this book because it is a beautiful story. I was sad to learn that girls weren't allowed to do things boys did. I was also sad because slaves weren't free and they were taken away from their family. But I was very happy because Marietta and the slave were friends and she set him free.

Title: City of Orphans Reviewed by: Vincent Lam, 13 This book is about a Danish girl named Emma. She was wrongly accused of stealing a watch but she didn't.

Her little brother, Maks, had to find a way to free his sister. As immigrants, the family could not afford a lawyer to solve this case.

With the help of the detective Bartleby Donck, Maks and his friend, Willa, found a way to free Emma.

I like this book because it was very exciting and descriptive about two orphans who fought between life and death and also between the truth and lies. I also liked this book because it made me feel so grateful and fortunate to have a wonderful family.

From page to page, this book was filled with suspense, love, excitement, and adventures. I hope you will have as much fun reading this book as I did!
