Richmond library welcomes Michael Ondaatje to speak at free virtual event

Canadian author Michael Ondaatje will be attending a live virtual event at the Richmond Public Library to answer questions from fans.

An internationally-renowned Canadian author is joining the Richmond Public Library (RPL) for a free virtual interview in August.

RPL’s One Book, Four Cities program has invited award-winning Michael Ondaatje to come and chat with his readers and fans.

He has been awarded multiple literary awards including the Giller and Golden Man Booker prizes and is also a Companion of the Order of Canada.

Ondaatje will talk about his book In the Skin of a Lion as well as answer any questions from the audience during the live event.

Pariticpants are also reminded they can join the Online Forum conversation with other readers from Richmond, Qingdawo and Xiamen, China, as well as Wakayama Japan about Ondaatje’s book ahead of the event.

The adult and teen event will take place virtually on Zoom on August 19 from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m.

Library staff may take photos and videos for promotional purposes. Those who wish to not have their photo taken are asked to speak to library staff.
