A budding young Richmond violinist is performing this Saturday at Fraserview Church (11295 Mellis Drive) at 6:30 p.m.

Accompanied by two pianists, Royce Richert, 18, is hoping the admission-by-donation concert will entertain and lift the spirits of attendees, while at the same time raise some money for his first semester at Toronto’s Glenn Gould School of Music.

Richert has performed since age five and, of late, has won a number of prizes for his performances that include stops in New York and several European countries.

Richert also snagged first place honours at the Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festival, last April, as well as this year’s Performing Arts B.C. Competition.

“My goal is to be a world-renowned solo performing and recording artist. I also love collaborating with other musicians,” said Richert.
