More than 400 dancers from across BC and the United States will be competing at the 4th annual High School High Hip Hop Dance Competition at the River Rock Show Theatre in Richmond, BC. High School High, the largest competitive secondary school hip hop dance competition in BC, consists of over 20 high schools and 40 teams that will be participating for the coveted title of best high school dance team.
High School High was created as a venue to help promote extra-curricular opportunities for students to hone their dance, choreography, and dance teaching skills. "This is an opportunity for kids to do something active and fun while showcasing their talents," state Anita Perel-Panar and Jheric Hizon, founders of High School High and A Star Studio Productions Society. "Kids need a place to learn, grow, and do something outside of watch TV and play video games. High School High offers this as a safe, fun, and competitive atmosphere with the best in North America."
In the past, winning members of hit television show America's Best Dance Crew, and members of So You Think You Can Dance have judged High School High. This year, judges include Marc Generoso, Stu Iguidez, and Angela Lowndes, who have been seen on So You Think You Can Dance; performed with Mariannas Trench; performed for Much Music MTV; and performed in the 2010 Olympics with Kaos.
High School High will be taking place on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 2:00pm at the River Rock Show Theatre at 8811 River Road in Richmond, BC. Media is available to attend free of charge. Please contact Anita Perel-Panar below for the number of tickets required or for more information.
