COVID-19 may have kept Richmond’s cadets at home on Remembrance Day, but it didn’t put a dampener on the importance of the occasion.

More kindness is needed for everyone, especially those in care homes, during COVID-19, according to two Richmond brothers.

The Richmond Christmas Fund kicked off its campaign early this year due to the pandemic and has re-imagined their various events in the city for the upcoming holidays.

It was an annual tradition -- dozens of youth visiting the B.C. and Alberta Guide Dogs facilities in Delta where they had the opportunity to interact with puppies and learn about the important role of service dogs.

The annual community sporting competitions aren’t back yet due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, but the online 50/50 raffle has returned. The Kajaks Track and Field Club has launched an online 50/50 raffle from now until Friday, Nov. 26.
