A whole team of Richmond first responders drove by Richmond Hospital to show appreciation on Thursday evening.

The sound of horns and sirens filled the air as Richmond RCMP and Richmond Fire-Rescue drove by Richmond Hospital Thursday night to show healthcare workers their support with a 7 p.m. cheer.

More than 10 first responder vehicles lined Gilbert Road while healthcare workers stood on the sidewalk, waving and jumping with happiness.

Cpl. Ian Henderson, Richmond RCMP spokesperson, said healthcare workers, like many, have had it tough this past year.

"We're there to show appreciation for the healthcare workers, especially now with all the things that are going on, I'm sure they could use something to brighten up their morale a bit," said Henderson.
