Kudos: B.C. musician performs for Richmond Hospital frontline workers

Local singer celebrates National Nurses Week

A B.C. country singer performed for frontline healthcare workers at Richmond Hospital in celebration of National Nurses Week on Thursday.

Ontario-born Todd Richard performed his original song titled “Green and Blue” live in front of many healthcare staff at the hospital in hopes to bring back the nightly 7 p.m. “pots and pans” ritual.

On May 13, Richard stood in front of many frontline workers who showed up with thank you and happy nurses' week signs and shared his appreciation for them.

“Last year when all of our lives changed and folks showed their acknowledgement to you all by banging pots and pans, that was when it hit me on how difficult your lives are,” said Richard.

“I wanted to somehow put those pots and pans into a thank you … song and this song is dedicated to you all.”

Richard has been performing his song at various hospitals across Metro Vancouver last week in hopes to remind those working on the frontlines that their dedication is acknowledged by community members.
