The Betonios were headed to No. 9 Restaurant when they were handed five free tickets to the Royal Canadian International Circus by Richmond News publisher Alvin Chow.
"We're going to go tonight!" said parents Rodel and Elena Betonio, as the family settled in for an early dinner.
The Betonios had originally planned to go bowling after their meal, but the children Ralph and twins Rain and Shine were excited for the sudden change in plans.
Meanwhile, Chow was all smiles after the encounter.
"I feel good about doing this!" he said.
The Royal Canadian International Circus will be in town until July 3.
