Thousands raised at first Richmond Firefighters' breakfast charity

The Hilton Vancouver Airport hotel hosted more than 150 attendees on Nov. 27, treating them to a pancake breakfast and live music.

Thousands of dollars for local charities were raised at the Richmond Firefighters’ breakfast charity on the morning of Nov. 27.

More than 150 people attended the event at the Hilton Vancouver Airport Hotel and were treated to a pancake breakfast and live music from the band of J.N. Burnett secondary – not to mention the pictures with Santa Claus.

Contributions made at the event included thousands in cash donations and toys, which will benefit Richmond Multicultural Community Services and Family Services of Greater Vancouver, according to a Nov. 28 release.

“The event was a great demonstration of community spirit,” said Hilton Vancouver Airport general manager Chris Perna, who added his organization was thrilled to see this level of support towards local families for the holidays.

Event sponsors included Alsco, Sysco, Freshpoint, Gordon Food Service and others.
