The Richmond Society for Community Living (RCCL) hosted a drive-thru Family Picnic, in lieu of its annual event at Brighouse Park.
For many people RSCL’s Family Picnic is the highlight of their summer, offering individuals and families supported through RSCL to network with others that share similar experiences, to nurture friendships and to foster new relationships in a casual setting.
The drive-thru was hosted at Richmond Secondary and included a scavenger hunt, colouring contest, live music, activity stations, snacks and coupons from local restaurants.
More than 250 people attended the event with guests invited to bring donations for the Richmond Food Bank.
RSCL provides services that respond to the changing needs of individuals living with a developmental disability, and their families, over the course of their lives.
