Richmond Hospital’s Emergency Department received donation of more than $100,000 from Scott and Bryant Pike.

According to the Pike brothers, the funds were raised with the support of family and friends to remember the work their parents Barb and Reg Pike have done for the community and hospital.

“We wanted to memorialize our parents for the compassionate and caring people they were, and recognize the profound impact they had on family, friends growing up, and the patients of Richmond Hospital,” said Bryant.

“We hope that this donation will continue her legacy and help to create a positive health care experience for others. Scott and I would like to thank all our family and friends who helped contribute.”

Barb joined the Richmond Hospital as an emergency nurse in the 1980s and has worked in healthcare for 40 years. For more than 25 of those years, she worked as a patient care coordinator in the emergency department before retiring in 2012.

Meanwhile, Reg was born and raised in Richmond and was described as a “charismastic, dependable business and salesman” in multiple industries before he retired in 2013.

Both Barb and Reg passed away in late 2020.

“Barb was an integral part of Richmond Hospital for many years and was known for delivering the very best in patient care,” said Natalie Meixner, president and CEO of Richmond Hospital Foundation.

“We are grateful to the Pike family and their friends for supporting Richmond Hospital Foundation so we can continue to provide the highest quality of care for our community.”
