Seafair Minor Hockey loses its hair over hospital fundraiser

Kids earned $16,500 for sick children

Kids from Seafair Minor Hockey Association, as well as their parents, raised just over $16,500 for Children's Hospital last weekend with a good old fashioned head shaving challenge.

"Steveston Barbers was instrumental in donating their time with four barbers shaving all 40-plus kids and parents," said Seafair vice-president Cody Kusch.

Some of the boys were also joined by a handful of Richmond Ravens who donated locks of their hair to the hospital to make wigs for children going through chemotherapy.

Look for the Seafair squad at the Canada Day parade in Steveston July 1.
