Three Richmond residents will spend time behind bars today, but not for committing any crimes.

Instead, Christopher Dinnell, Deirdré Fang and Richmond Board of Education trustee Debbie Tablotney are spending time in an SPCA kennel as part of the organization’s “Lock-In for Love” fundraiser.

“I have loved all creatures great and small all my life and have shared my home with at least one cat and dog since I can remember,” Tablotney said on her fundraising page.

“We love our golden retriever Rosie and our two cats, Cleo and Kyra. I am being Locked in for Love to raise funds for the BC SPCA and awareness for injured or surrendered animals seeking a forever home.”

Together, the group of three has a goal of raising $4,000.

The event begins at 11 a.m. on Friday and wraps up at 2 p.m. Stop by the Richmond SPCA to cheer them on, or visit Richmond’s Lock-In For Love site to donate.
