A Richmond business is having a clothing drive for kids as the winter season approaches.

Everglade Development is having a Coats to Kids driver where it is collecting gently-used coats and clothes for kids of all ages until December 8.

While the main goal is to collect winter coats, the company is also accepting all types of warm clothing.

Sam Chen, marketing manager of Everglade, said they always want to help others during the holiday season.

"Kids deserve to have warm clothes for the cold weather, it is a basic necessity," said Chen, adding that inflation has caused many families unable to afford warmer clothing for children.

"It's just a gesture that we believe towards, especially giving back towards our community of Greater Vancouver."

All clothing donations will go towards the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau and the Surrey Christmas Bureau.

Every item donated will count as one entry towards a draw to win one of five $20 gift cards to Smokehouse Sandwich & Co. in Richmond.

Donations can be made at Everglade's office at 5188 Westminster Hwy #113 from Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
