The South Arm Community Park playground is closed for renewal starting this month.

The South Arm Community Park playground has been closed for renewal starting this month.

The playground and surrounding park areas have been fenced off until 2023 due to the scale and complexity of the project.

Scheduled to reopen in spring 2023 (weather dependent), the renewed playground will feature multiple slides, climbers, monkey bars, a tower, swings, spinners, nature play elements and a big zipline. Other new elements will include a plaza, pathways, benches and picnic tables.

In the meantime, community members can visit alternative playgrounds in the area including one at 9282 Williams Rd. (behind James Whiteside elementary at the northeast corner of South Arm Park) and 10400 Leonard Dr. (at William Bridge elementary).

Questions about the renewal and bench dedication program can be directed to Park Services at 604-244-1208 or parks@richmond.ca.
