"I was in the store and was blown away!"
Richmond resident John Swanson was almost swept off his feet in shock after learning he won the $500,000 Extra prize from the April 11 Lotto Max draw.
Swanson purchased his winning ticket at the Shoppers Drug Mart inside Blundell Centre at No. 2 and Blundell roads in Richmond.
He had the retailer check his winning ticket at the scanner, and once confirmed, he shared the news with his good friend first.
"She was blown away as well," said Swanson.
The Ontario-born Richmond resident described his winning as "life-changing."
But the avid sports fan has "no plans yet" on how he will spend his prize.
