The Vancouver Opera will be performing at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet in Richmond this upcoming weekend -- for free.

Several sets of live performances by the Vancouver Opera and its Yulanada M. Faris Young Artists Program will take place between 1 and 3 p.m. on
Sunday, April 3.

The performances include duets, arias, trios and quarters from famous operas like The Magic Flute and Madama Butterfly.

According to Robert Thurlow, general manager at McArthurGlen, it is important to showcase art and culture in the community.

"Arts and culture (are) of utmost importance to us at McArthurGlen and we're delighted to welcome these young artists from the Vancouver Opera community to bring their craft to life," said Thurlow.

Tom Wright, general director at Vancouver Opera, said events like this allow their performers to "showcase their unique talent to the masses."

"We're so excited to be back in the community doing what we love," said Wright.
