Out and About: Santa arrives in Steveston on Christmas Eve

A 45-year tradition was back in Richmond on Dec. 24 after a COVID-19 hiatus.

Hundreds of people - especially those with young families - lined the streets of Steveston to view the return of the Steveston Santa Claus Parade on Dec. 24.

The parade had been cancelled curing COVID-19, but it has a 45-year-long history with the village and it came back beautifully this year.

The event was a great success, with many lit-up vehicles, cartoon characters passing out candy canes and a general good vibe for all.

The neighbourhood of Regent and 4th Street in Steveston responded with their own decorated yards and houses.

It was one of those times when everything went well and people enjoyed themselves peacefully.

Congratulations to the organizers and volunteers!
