Out and About: Holiday lights brighten up Richmond

Out and About contributor Grant McMillan has photographed his favourite seasonal light displays throughout the community.

The winter holiday season follows Thanksgiving and this year —as much as ever — we can benefit by celebrating diversity and tolerance.

I searched around Richmond for seasonal lights that reflect a general celebration.

The results were illuminating!

There are at least two ways to enjoy the seasonal lights.

I have always preferred to just drive around and stop when I see interesting light displays. This spontaneous approach is great for families who can have active spotters in the vehicle.

The second method is to find a map of the lights and use this as your guide.

Or a mix of both works well.

Some of the best light displays that I found are in the neighbourhood near the intersection of the Phoenix Drive and Britannia Drive.

Well worth the drive.

Here are the images that I enjoyed around Richmond.
