The Vancouver Hunan Fellow Association raised and donated $30,000 to benefit the Richmond Hospital Foundation.

An annual golf event was held at the University Golf Club in August with the goal to raise money to help Richmond Hospital build "a better and healthier future."

"We want to bring good news to the Richmond community by helping Richmond Hospital,” said Coco Luo, president of the Hunan Fellow Association.

"Giving back to our community is part of our purpose, and we’re delighted to have such strong support and enthusiasm from our members and friends.”

The non-profit social organization has raised more than $70,000 for the hospital since the start of the pandemic including $20,000 for Richmond Hospital's new medical imaging centre and $20,000 for the hospital's COVID-19 Response Fund.

"The Vancouver Hunan Fellow Association has been an active and generous supporter of Richmond Hospital Foundation,” said Theresa Blackwell, associate director of Donor Relations at Richmond Hospital Foundation.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to their members for helping us enhance health care for everyone in Richmond.”
