Four things to do in Richmond this weekend

From an Anime festival to an e-scooter skills challenge, there's something for everyone in Richmond this weekend.

1. Pajo's 40th anniversary

Steveston Pajo's Fish and Chips is celebrating its 40th anniversary of serving the Richmond community this Saturday.

There will be live music, a memorabilia display and giveaways all day.

Date: Saturday, June 14, from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Location: Pajo's Fish and Chips Steveston, 12351 Third Ave.

2. Anime Festival

Lansdowne Centre and Magic Chest are partnering to bring Anime Fest to Richmond this weekend.

There will be a six-foot Gundam statue, cosplay competition, Pokémon card trading game tournament and vendors.

A model kit building competition and scavenger hunt is also planned for the weekend.

Date: Saturday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, June 15, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Location: 5300 Number 3 Rd.

3. Test your E-scooter skills and safety knowledge

Richmond RCMP is hosting a free E-Scooter Safety and Skills Challenge.

Participants 16 and older will take part in a safety briefing and then proceed through various basic skills courses, including turning, stopping and hazard awareness, before navigating a comprehensive skills challenge course.

There will be giveaways for all participants as well as door prizes.

Date: Saturday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Location: Lansdowne Centre northwest parking lot, 5300 No. 3 Rd.

4. Farmer's market

Visit the Steveston Farmers and Artisan Market at Garry Point Park this weekend.

There will be fresh produce, prepared foods and crafts from BC local vendors. Event will run rain or shine.

Dogs on leashes are welcome, too.

Date: Sunday, June 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Location: Garry Point Park, 12011 Seventh Ave.
