Cadets Michelle Yang and Eric Lau, both of Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Bicknell, worked on heavy machinery aboard the Royal Canadian Navy's Patrol Class Tender vessels as part of the eight-week sea cadet marine engineer course at Her Majesty's Canadian Ship Quadra Cadet Summer Training Centre in Comox, B.C.

They were presented their marine engineering ticket from Captain Don Smith, the commanding officer of Maritime Forces Pacific's fleet maintenance facility. They are now qualified to act as second engineer of the watch on PCT naval vessels.

Lau accomplished the highest mark, earning him the Royal Canadian Centennial Award and bursary.
