The Richmond Branch of the BC Registered Music Teachers will present two recitals Sunday, April 15 at Richmond Presbyterian Church, 7111 No. 2 Rd. The 1: 30 p.m. recital will include a presentation of the Richmond Branch Scholarships, the Winifred Proud Scholarships and Richmond Branch Community Service Scholarships. The Richmond Poverty Response Committee is seeking homeowners to meet and help create "Richmond Rental Connect," a new rental housing initiative to help beat Richmond's housing crunch. They'll have the latest information on grants and opportunities for secondary suite landlords, provide free food, and listen to your ideas and concerns. Are you or someone you know misusing substances or experiencing problem gambling? Richmond Public Library is partnering with Richmond Addiction Services (RAS) to offer a series of free, drop-in community education programs. The programs will take place from 79 p.m. in the 2nd floor program room at the Brighouse (Main) Branch of RPL, 7700 Minoru Gate. No registration necessary. The sessions will cover issues related to substance use and misuse, gambling, and understanding what addiction is. The programs take place on Wednesdays April 18, 25 and May 2, 16, 23.
