Lower Mainland man wins $500K in Lotto 6/49 draw.

When Lower Mainland resident David Galloway scanned his lotto ticket at a Save-On-Foods machine, he didn't believe he'd actually won.

"I scanned my winning ticket and saw what it said, and had to scan a few more times, before asking the cashier to check,” he recalls.

His wife didn't believe it either.

He texted her a picture of the $500,000 amount and she said it was "wishful thinking."

In fact the figure was very real. Galloway won the Extra during the October 22 Lotto 6/49 draw. He bought the ticket at the Save-On-Foods on Sumas Way in Abbotsford.

The couple plans to pay off their mortgage and are looking into purchasing a vacation home. Galloway says that the win feels “nice! Relaxing! Worry free! It will change my life.”
