New Richmond restaurant introduces handmade noodles from Chinese town

The restaurant brings the flavours of Ciwu, a town in Zhejiang province in China

There is yet another option for noodle lovers in Richmond.

Ciwu Asheng Handmade Noodle (translation) soft-opened earlier this week at theYaohan Centre food court.

It specializes in handmade noodles in the style of Ciwu, a town in Zhejiang province in China, known for its noodle dishes.

There is no English name on its sign, but the bilingual (English and Chinese) menu shows that the restaurant offers a variety of soup, fried and dried noodles and some side dishes.

The restaurant appears to be a franchisee of Ciwu Asheng, a noodle restaurant chain in China, and the noodles are made fresh by the chef, according to a post from the restaurant owner on Chinese social media platform Little Red Book.

The restaurant is closed at the moment to "make adjustments according to the feedback" customers gave during the soft opening, said the owner.

The official opening will take place on Monday, May 27.

The new restaurant replaced Xian cuisine Lumingchun, which was previously at the location.
