The environment is a pressing issue for many voters during this federal election.

The Richmond Climate Hub is planning a debate for candidates about the environment on Oct. 3 at Palmer secondary.

This is one of 100 Debates on the Environment being held across the country during the election where candidates will be asked about their ideas and proposals for the environment.

The event is supported by Green Seeds Music Society.

The event is on Oct. 3, 7 to 9 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.). RC Palmer secondary is at 8160 St. Albans Rd.

 

Still no PPC candidate for Steveston-Richmond East

According to Ivan Pak, who is running for the People’s Party of Canada (PPC) for Richmond Centre, the fledgling party is planning to announce a candidate for Steveston-Richmond East.

The regional coordinator, however, gave the same message two weeks ago, saying an announcement was “imminent.”

 

Peschisolido fundraising

According to the Joe Peschisolido’s campaign office, the incumbent MP who is seeking re-election will hold a fundraiser on Tuesday at the Legends Pub and Restaurant at 9031 Blundell Rd. from 7 to 9 p.m.
