Two employees at the Real Canadian Superstore in Richmond have tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a notice posted online on Friday, Jan. 8 by Loblaw Companies Ltd., the chain’s parent company, two staff members at the Superstore at 4651 No. 3 Road – just north of Alderbridge Way – tested positive for the virus.

The employees last worked at the store on Dec. 31 and Jan. 6.

Earlier this week, Loblaws announced one employee at the store – who last worked on Dec. 31 – tested positive for the virus. That notice has since been updated to include the second employee who last worked at Superstore earlier this week.

Vancouver Coastal Health has not issued a public exposure notice for the store.

On its website, Loblaws states it is posting cases where employees test positive in its stores for transparency.

“In these cases, we work closely with public health and follow their guidance to ensure proper notification of close contacts and required cleaning and sanitization in our stores,” Loblaws stated on its website.
