An employee at the Real Canadian Superstore in Richmond has tested positive for COVID-19.

Loblaw Companies Ltd., the chain’s parent company, announced Wednesday (Jan. 6) on its website that a staff member at the Superstore at 4651 No. 3 Road, just north of Alderbridge Way, tested positive for the virus.

The company said the last day the employee worked at the store was on Dec. 31.

Vancouver Coastal Health has not issued a public exposure notice for the store.

Loblaws said it is posting cases where employees test positive in its stores for transparency.

“In these cases, we work closely with public health and follow their guidance to ensure proper notification of close contacts and required cleaning and sanitization in our stores,” stated Loblaws on its website.
