Richmond reports 59 new COVID-19 cases

Richmond has the lowest average daily case rate per 100,000 population, in the Lower Mainland.

There were 59 new cases of COVID-19 in Richmond over the past week (Jan. 22 to 28), according to the latest data from the BC Centre for Disease Control.

This is a small increase over last week’s 54 new cases.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 1,819 cases reported in the city.

Richmond’s average daily case rate is between one and five per 100,000 population.

The average daily case rate in Richmond is the lowest in the Lower Mainland when looking at cases per 100,000 population.

The outbreak at Minoru Residence, a long-term care home near Minoru Boulevard and Westminster Highway, continues. Over the past week, two more residents at the facility died from the virus.
