Richmond Hospital was hit with three COVID-19 outbreaks earlier this month, which have now all been declared over.

The remaining two COVID-19 outbreaks at Richmond Hospital are now over.

The outbreak in the 4 North Acute Care for the Elderly unit was declared over on Saturday, Dec. 26, while the outbreak in the 6 North medical unit was declared over on Tuesday, Dec. 29, Vancouver Coastal Health told the Richmond News.

The hospital was hit with three COVID-19 outbreaks earlier this month: first in 4 North on Dec. 3, then in the 6 North and 3 South medical units on Dec. 7.

The News reported last week that outbreak restrictions in 3 South were lifted on Sunday, Dec. 20.

As a result of the outbreaks in the two medical units, Richmond Hospital reduced its surgeries, with priority given to urgent and day surgeries.
