COVID-19 outbreak declared at another Richmond care home

A COVID-19 outbreak was declared at Minoru Residence with one resident tested positive for the virus.

According to Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), the outbreak is at the 1 East unit of the care home at 7333 Gollner Ave. and restrictions to contain the virus was put in place on Dec. 21.

An email was sent to families of residents at Minoru stating that “all essential visits and social visits for 1 West on the second and third floors will continue” with only one exit point at this time.

Food drop-offs for 1 East and window visits for all residents are suspended until further notice, reads the email.

This is the third outbreak in Richmond this month following cases at Richmond Hospital and Fraserview Intermediate Care Lodge.
