Vancouver Coastal Health has posted new COVID-19 exposure warnings for three Richmond schools.

Mitchell elementary, William Cook elementary and MacNeill secondary have all been listed on the health authority’s school exposures webpage.

A possible exposure to the virus occurred at Mitchell on Dec. 7 to 10, according to VCH, while William Cook had a possible exposure on Dec. 2 to 4 and Dec. 8.

Meanwhile, there was a possible exposure at MacNeill on Dec. 7.

A school “exposure” is when someone with the virus was at the school during their infectious period, according to VCH’s website.

However, the health authority adds that, “in the vast majority of cases, there is no transmission in the school setting.”

VCH will post possible school exposures on its website when they feel that everyone who might have been exposed to the virus couldn’t be contacted.

This is not the first time that the schools have reported exposures.

MacNeill was previously flagged for an exposure on Nov. 12, and Mitchell reported possible exposures on Nov. 2, and Nov. 12 to 13.

William Cook reported a possible exposure on Nov. 9 to 10 and Nov. 12.
