A Richmond church is opening its doors to the community for its third annual musical event to celebrate UN World Interfaith Harmony Week on Feb. 6.

St. Monica Parish, a Roman Catholic Church at No. 5 and Woodland roads, will be hosting an evening of songs, speeches and faith traditions in the multi-faith community.

Edward Wong, a member of the Highway to Heaven Association, said that the purpose of the event is to “demonstrate the inter-religious harmony, unity and solidarity among various churches and faith groups.”

Members of the Highway to Heaven Association will be joined by Nanak Niwas Gurdwara Sikh Temple, Bahai’i Faith Assembly of Richmond, Baitur Rahman Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Mosque, Tung Cheng Yuen Buddhist Temple and Subramaniya Swamy Hindu Temple at the event.

The event starts at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6.
