Richmond indoor recreation programs to start

As the wet and cold weather approaches, the City of Richmond is moving its fitness and recreation programs indoors starting next week. Programs such as drawing, painting, dancing, basketball and science are being offered for children and youths.

As the wet and cold weather approaches, the City of Richmond is moving its fitness and recreation programs indoors starting next week.

Programs such as drawing, painting, dancing, basketball and science are being offered for children and youths.

Meanwhile, adult programs that are being offered include Qigong, Tai chi, cycle and dance fit, yoga and functional training.

Fitness and aquatic activities will be held at the Minoru Centre for Active Living The programs will be offered at community centres across the city including:

  • Cambie Community Centre
  • South Arm Community Centre
  • Thompson Community Centre
  • City Centre Community Centre
  • Hamilton Community Centre
  • West Richmond Community Centre
  • Steveston Community Centre

Programs have limited space and the amount of activities will be based on demand and public safety.

Safety protocols such as physical distancing, no sharing of water bottles, towels, mats or other items will be enforced.

Pre-registration is required for all indoor programs.
