Richmond’s Lulu Island Winery has been turning its wine into highly concentrated disinfectant, in spite of the fact that this process may be costlier than regular sanitizers.

After three weeks of distilling, retooling and packaging, the winery successfully formulated and obtained 75 per cent, high-concentration alcohol sanitizer/hand sanitizer and had those both licensed by Health Canada.

Richmond-based firm Great Little Box Company has also been supporting the winery with packaging and label printing.

The first batch of hand sanitizer produced by the winery as donated to Richmond’s front-line workers at a number of community agencies.
