The 2019 RichCity Idol winner is Mariam El Lahham, a Grade 9 student from Hugh Boyd secondary.
Mariam grabbed the title at the 16th annual singing contest, held at a packed Gateway Theatre on Wednesday evening.
She was chosen by three esteemed judges and via an audience vote from a group of 10 finalists, each one representing a Richmond secondary school.
Mariam took home the top prize of a video-recording package at Blue Light Studios in Vancouver.
Second place went to Charlie Barstow, of McMath, with Liam Fetigan, of Burnett, in third.
RichCity Idol was started in 2004 by Richmond high school students Natasha Jung and Martin Hui and following students have continued the tradition of organizing and hosted the event ever since.
